Indo-US industry body to set up vertical for legal firms

To strengthen trade ties in the corporate legal sector, the Indo–American Chamber of Commerce has said it will set up an independent vertical for legal firms that will also help law firms get clients in India and the US.

“There is no such platform where Indian firms can meet US companies to serve foreign companies’ requirements in India and vice versa,” said Anand Desai, managing partner of DSK Legal and former president of the Indo American Chamber of Commerce. “We are trying to create a platform where legal firms from both sides can come and get businesses.”

According to the chamber, trade between India and its largest trade partner the US, will touch $100 billion. Indian legal firms are looking to tap small companies and start-ups in America.
